The Nintendo DS was the first dual-screen handheld console that Nintendo released. Many iconic and well-loved games have been released for this console, including Mario Kart DS, Pokemon Black & White, and Animal Crossing Wild World (known in Japan as Oideyo Dobutsu no Mori). While most of the physical cartridges for these popular games remain easy to get, Pokemon games (and Pokemon merchandise in general) has seen a startling price increase to over $100 per cartridge, causing many players who want to play the older Pokemon games turn to emulation or piracy.
